Two New SC CARES Act Grants Available Now

October 19, 2020 If your SC business has experienced a hardship due to COVID-19, we have encouraging news! The SC Department of Administration announced a $40 million grant program for small businesses for revenue loss due to COVID-19.  Beginning October 19 through November 1, business meeting the qualifications below can apply for grants ranging from $2,500 to $25,000.  The two grants available under this program include: the Minority and Small Business Relief Grant Program & the Nonprofit Relief Grant Program.

The qualifications for these two grants are as follows:

  • Minority and Small Business Relief Grant Program

*Priority will be given to minority-owned businesses, businesses that have not received other federal assistance such as a PPP loan, and businesses with 15 or fewer employees.

    • have 25 or fewer employees
    • physically have been in operation in South Carolina from Oct 13, 2019 to present
    • have experienced a COVID-19 business impact.
      • Qualifying expenditures include:
        • Business staffing costs
        • Business operating costs
        • Facility costs
        • Personal Protective Equipment
        • Revenue loss

 

 

  • Nonprofit Relief Grant Program
    • be designated as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization by the IRS
    • registered as a public charity in SC
    • physically located in South Carolina
    • be in operation Oct 13, 2019 to present
    • have experienced a business impact due to COVID-19
      • Qualifying expenditures include:
        • Organizational staffing costs
        • Organizational operating costs
        • Facility costs
        • Personal Protective Equipment
        • Revenue loss

 

 

The grant award notifications will be sent out to recipients between December 8-15.
